Today, one of my Protestant friends proudly...

Mom: Do you think I should go feed the poor at the Baptist church today, or continue my novena for the holy souls in Purgatory?
Me: Hm. Are you asking me whether you should do a spiritual, or corporal work of mercy?
Mom: Yeah.
Me: Pray for the souls in Purgatory?
Mom: That's what I thought. I'm sure the Protestants will take care of things over there anyway. The souls in Purgatory need as many Catholics as possible praying for them.
