The purpose of my blog.
As I am slowly starting to gain a substantial number of followers online, and now that my presence on Tumblr is somewhat becoming more well known, I begin to ask myself what the purpose of this blog is.
To keep things short, my first response would obviously be to glorify God (and if for some strange reason you still haven’t checked my URL name, then now would be the perfect time to do so :P)....

Spiritual Highs
While I can testify to the fact that these moments can be life changing experiences, one must be careful not to rely so much on them (in my opinion, anyway). Know that reality will set in on you, and once it does, it will hit you. Hard.
Whenever I think of spiritual highs, I like to think of them as “honeymoon” stages in your relationship with the Lord. But relationships do have their ups and...

Abandoning senseless expectations.
My sanity is brought into question yet again as I near my upcoming junior year. Don’t get me wrong - I’m very excited to face the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead with God at my side. However, I know that next year will be loaded with hundreds of expectations and I am confused as to how I should respond.
The same questions seem to lurk at the back of my mind, waiting to reveal...

Discernment
Today, I had the opportunity to come across a wonderful person named Dorothy. It was truly a blessing to meet her - and it wasn’t even expected.
My dad and I originally planned that today, we would go visit the Incarnation Monastery in Berkeley. After being led a few wrong turns and driveways, we finally found the place. However, it wasn’t like anything we expected it to be.. So we decided upon...

Desperation
Whenever I think about the cruelties and injustices of the world today, there’s often been one aspect that has always stood out to me - the fact that many people today feel unloved, under appreciated, and unwanted. Mother Teresa put it eloquently when she said that “loneliness is the most terrible poverty.” Unfortunately, what makes this loneliness even worse, is that it often goes unnoticed.

The Ultimate Leader (Also presented at the LSL...
It would definitely be an understatement to say that Jesus is the ultimate leader!
But in terms of the values taught by St. John Baptist DLS, it is truly in Jesus that we can find perfection in all of the Lasallian core principles.
For example, Jesus teaches us about having faith in the presence of God: He teaches us about a God who loves us immeasurably as our Father. And it is through Jesus’...
Prayers appreciated.
My friend has recently been diagnosed with “palinopsia”. If you’re like me, and didn’t know what that was at first glance, then here’s a helpful video that explains what it is.

I just want to ask you all for your prayers. He’s definitely going through a hard time, and I want to help him out in any way I can. So your...

The Confessions of St. Augustine
Be A Man - Fr. Larry Richards
Of course, this all depends on if I finish the summer reading I still have yet to accomplish. Oh dear..

Welcome to my blog!
Hey there! My name’s Joseph Beltran, and welcome to my blog. I’m Filipino, Roman Catholic, and madly in love with Jesus Christ. In here, you’ll probably find personal reflections, anything that has to do with the saints, and inspirational quotes.
Through my 16 years of life, I’ve come to know myself as a restless child of God who seeks nothing but to glorify the One who...

Loving it here at the LSL conference at SMC..
I can honestly say that I’ve met some of the most amazing and inspirational people here. I wish I could stay a little bit longer with these guys, but all good things have to come to an end sometime. Making the most out of my last day here.
