Being a shy and quiet individual, nothing is more annoying (aside from talkative people) than the following questions: “why are you so quiet?” “are you ok?” “what are you thinking about?” “are you sure you are ok, because you have been very quiet all this while”.
To me, being quiet is not a choice, it simply is my orientation as an individual. It does not mean i am void of anything meaningful to say, simply that when i have something to say, i will say it regardless of whether i have been asked or not. I am more of an observant/ and introspective individual, but something about the consistency of these questions makes me wonder: why is it such an issue if an individual is shy or quiet. In my case i am both, which makes it even worse because to most people it seems as though i never say much. Maybe they haven’t discovered yet, what ticks me; or maybe they haven’t tried. In any case, I will not be changing anytime time soon; though i would somehow appreciate if these questions were no longer being asked of me.
